5 Acids + Enzymes This R.N. and Esthetician LOVES!

Enzyme peels and acid peels are the industry standards for chemical exfoliation of the skin. Obviously enzyme peels are designed to work more superficially and acids are designed to work much more aggressively.  However, there is a very firm place for each on the skin care professional’s back bar.

Enzyme peels work like little pac-men, just munching away at the dead skin. They stop working when all of the skin is gone. This is what makes them so safe to use and how they can give the skin such an incredible glow.

Nicole’s Top 3 Favorite Enzyme Peels

Hale & Hush Incredible Enzymes

When I have a truly sensitive client I reach for Hale & Hush’s Incredible Enzymes. For a mild but powerful exfoliation to naturally lighten and even skin tone while bringing out the skin’s natural glow using my two favorite fruit enzymes-papain and bromelaine, known for their anti-inflammatory benefits, breaking down dead skin cells and brightening the skin.

Love this mask/exfoliation combo with one of the easiest AHAs, Lactic Acid combined with cranberry enzymes to exfoliate dull, lackluster skin. The lactic aides in hydration leaving the skin with a healthy glow without compromising the integrity of of the skin. This is the perfect enzyme mask to add to your night routine mid-week or post travel to give the skin a mild polish and antioxidant boost from free radical damage.

For my organic skin care lovers this is my go to treatment room enzymes that is gets an added boost when combined with the MA20 Peel Activator.

Packed with 4 arctic plants and berries for antioxidant support to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, salicylic for resurfacing and exfoliation along with azelaic to reduce inflammation and kill bacteria.

When combined with the peel activator, additional exfoliation occurs to support a healthy texture while targeting dry, lackluster skin. Skins texture and tone are visibly improved with an immediate glow with no downtime or visible peeling.

Nicole’s 2 Favorite Acid Peels

Circadia MandeliClear
Circadia MandeliClear w/ Vitamin A Accelerator

When I want to tackle pigmentation this is my powerhouse peel that never lets me down. MandeliClear is what I reach for for pigmentation for skin of color as a top performer during peel season. Great for my higher Fitzpatrick 3-5 when properly pre-treated. This peel brightens PIH from melasma, acne and sun damage.

Provides exfoliation with salicylic, brightening and antibacterial properties from mandelic and lactic works as a tyrosinase inhibitor.

Topped off with the Vitamin A Accelerator to boost and accelerate peeling without damage. Retinol increases cell turnover and stimulates collagen and elastin.

Skin Script RX 20% Lactic

A gentle peel that is reliable and perfect for first time peelers and newer estheticians who are learning to work with acids. Great for those who want to experience the exfoliation and benefits of lightening, resurfacing and hydration without visible peeling.

Combined with Arbutin as a hydroquinone alternative and kojic as a tyrosinase inhibitor to tackle pigmentation, this peel sloughs off dead skin during treatment for immediate results.
